One of the responses to the Coronavirus pandemic has been the separation of family and friends in order to protect our loved ones. Along with the terrible financial hardships and loss of life, this has been one of the hardest aspects for many to deal with; grandparents who cannot hold their grandchildren, children who cannot visit their parents and friends and partners who cannot embrace each other. We are social creatures and this lack of touch has been incredibly hard for so many of us, with the repercussions for mental health being immense. Let’s hope that a solution can be found soon and that we will remember what is truly precious.
